Friday 31st March 2000 – The Damned – White Horse, High Wycombe
The Damned return to High Wycombe after near 21 year absence. Captain Sensible greets the audience: “Good Evening! High Wycombe’s a sh*t hole, except this place of course because it gives us free beer.”
The Damned first appeared in High Wycombe during the embryonic punk year of 1976 – playing the Nag’s Head twice. They returned during a second wave of punk in April 1979, playing the Town Hall.
This gig was memorable for me at the time because having seen the band several times over the years, on this occasion I was able to walk to the gig – being just a ten minute stroll away.
If you have any memories/pictures of this gig please get in touch.
